Presenter Team Biographies

Gary Ward

Gary Ward has been a Personal Trainer for ten years. He has a degree in European Studies from Loughborough University. Following a PGCE at Nottingham University, Gary went for some 'time out' in France and worked no less than five winter ski seasons selling ski boots; he became fascinated by the anatomy of the foot. To this day the foot has captured Gary's imagination and when working with the body, he has always tried to ensure that the foot is functioning optimally.

Those five years highlighted that injury and poor foot mechanics come hand in hand. Ten years in the fitness industry and numerous PT courses, but where was the information on the foot? He created Anatomy in Motion as an extension to all he has learnt regarding the human body combining the mechanics of the foot directly with the exceptional auto-corrective properties of the human body. Gary is a fan of all movement: admiring all from break dancers and skate boarders to field sport athletes and runners. His principal activities are skiing, golf and climbing and he also has an active interest in mental, emotional as well as physical healing.

Kathryn Payne

Kathryn Payne was educated in Engineering and Physiology before training as a Pilates teacher, personal trainer and sports massage therapist and is now halfway through her Structural Integration training with Tom Myers.

She also has a wide-ranging personal experience in disciplines such as dance, swimming, rowing and climbing. She is now also Director of Lifecheck Health, a health consultancy company specialising in a holistic approach to health for individuals and working groups.

Matthew Stone

Matthew has devoted his career to exploring the keys to unlocking human potential. In university he read social sciences, focussing on social and environmental psychology. Post university, the wicked world of advertising beckoned. Missing its soul, he went East and studied with Indian Gurus, Zen Masters and leading exponents of human potential. Amongst numerous personal development courses, he trained as a Humanistic Psychotherapist with an organisation called The Humaniversity. On qualifying, he led a therapeutic community in Dorset called The Leela Centre. Its primary purpose was to help individuals and groups to grow in their ability to access and live from their highest potential. This led to becoming School Director of an independent, boarding school in Devon called Osho Ko Hsuan School.

London beckoned and Matthew joined a training company called Kennedy Scott, supporting long term unemployed young people to get back into work. This was deeply rewarding but ultimately provided too small a canvas in which to evolve his own developmental approach.

Seven years ago was the birth of The Stone Partnership, his own coaching and training company. This provided the opportunity to apply his own approach to working with individuals and organisations. He tends to work with large organisations or individuals who show clear commitment to untapping their reservoirs of ability. Clients include, Starbucks, News Corporation, Channel 4, Morgan Stanley, Guardian Newspapers, Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Current projects include writing a book helping readers unlock their very best ability whilst achieving maximum fulfilment along the way.

Kelvin Heard

Kelvin Heard began his career as a lawyer in the city of London in 1991, before he was diagnosed with chronic fatigue and became bedridden for 4 years. In this period, he became profoundly aware of the power of the mind and its ability to go beyond all boundaries to achieve success and well-being. Now fully recovered, his life was changed forever when he became a healer. He attributes his recovery to the power of meditation, visualization and healing.

Kelvin uses his unique approach to maximize the potential of businesses and their top teams. He has worked with such international icons as Sir Paul McCartney and Sarah Brightman at different times in their careers, and with international sports presenter Gabby Logan. In business, he has worked with CEO Michael Gordon and his team at Bumble & Bumble in New York, where Kelvin’s approach enabled the team to be incredibly creative at a difficult time in their business growth, leading to great success.

In 2009, Kelvin teamed up with Claire Chidley, international speaker on creativity and motivation, and Scott Harvey, a manager at GCHQ. Together they have created a coaching and motivational module called 360-degree intelligence, using their creative and motivational skills to help companies and their top teams reach new levels in creativity, power and success. Kelvin brings out his first book in 2009, called Awakening the Healer Within.
